I know what you mean. It seems that most of the doctors talk about lactose intolerance and its relevance to diarrhea but nobody ever pointed it out to me as a potential trigger even for non-LI folks.
I personally think that dairy makes me constipated. I can have a little bit without problems (a piece of hard candy with cream, etc.) but I wouldn't dare putting it into my "coffee" or eating a regular yogurt. Which is too bad because I miss it terribly so I just keep telling myself that it isn't really natural to adult people to be digesting another specie's nursing milk.
Anyway, when I spoke with my doc last time I told her about Heather's diet and dairy avoidance and she replied that "it is possible that dairy just doesn't work for some people". So much for a definite answer, huh?
