Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Last night (as always), my man suggests we go out to eat because he wants to get out of the house. My IBS isn't stable at the moment so I mention that to him but he wants to get something to eat anyway. We drive over to the barbecue place where he buys take out and we're driving back home. As I'm driving, he's eating barbecued ribs, potato salad, corn bread and pork beans. The smell in the car is overwhelming so I have to crack the window open. The smell of his food makes my mouth water and stomach "talk". I get so angry because I cannot eat it. I say nothing.

Or what about all the other times when he wants to go to Baskin Robins? I sit across him as he eats pralines and cream or butter pecan ice-cream. I have no choice but to sit there and be mad. There's only 1 non-dairy ice-cream in Baskin Robins and it has too much acid/sugar in it.

I keep switching from mad to feeling sorry for myself to being optimistic.

For all of you out there, not being able to eat like everyone else, I give you a bow!!!!!!!
