I plan to become pregnant soon, and I discussed this with my OBGYN a few weeks ago. She told me a good goal is 1500 mg of Calcium each day. I'm sure whatever multivitamin or prenatal you're taking has at least 500 mg, and you can take a separate calcium supplement, too. I get the rest of what I need from fortified rice milk. She said I probably get more calcium than the average woman my age who actually consumes dairy!
