It's not at all unpleasant -- they knock you out. The worst part of it is the day before, having to consume all that laxative. But ya gotta get the colonoscopy for a confirmed diagnosis. I too thought it would be terrible giving up dairy; in fact, giving up a lot of stuff was difficult (I'm still having problems giving up the coffee) -- but Heather's right, ya just gotta do it. Nothing -- NOTHING -- tastes as good as an IBS attack hurts. And remember, if the colonoscopy proves that you have IBS, then you'll know how to deal with it -- and you'll have a LOT of support from us! Good luck.
