I grow my own peppermint and nothing can compare to home grown herbal tea. This is what I do: Pick the herb when the morning dew has dried. I usually cut stems that are about 6-8 inches long. I strip off the bottom few leaves and tie 4-7 stems together (depending on how thick they are)with a rubber band. I hang them upside down from my fireplace mantle to dry. Any cool, dry place out of direct sunlight will dry your herbs beautifully. When they are dry and crunchy, strip off the leaves and store them in a glass jar.
Sounds like you'll have enough peppermint to last you until next season. Enjoy!
