I am an IBS-A. My digestive system moves slowly, so normally I have C until something triggers it to expell stool, which usually comes out as D. I have been having a lot of problems with gas. After a lot of meals I can feel and hear it gurgling and moving around inside me, more often on the left side than the right. This sometimes happens even after "safe" meals. I'm wondering if maybe the fact that my system is usually backed up may be making the gas issues worse? Maybe if I treated the C specifically my whole system would move a little more smoothly?
I am following Heather's diet and taking Acacia powder and probiotics. I get 35g of fiber daily, and my stool is always loose enough, frequently too loose by the time it finally comes out.
I am going to make a new appointment with a GI doctor today (haven't seen one since last year when I was diagnosed with IBS), but I'm trying to figure out what I can do in the mean time. I was on Miralax a while ago for constipation and it did help, but that was before the D and gas problems started.
