I took two days off of work when it all came to a head (taking meds for ulcer, IBS symptoms at its worst, plus other various health conditions I have). But it should be noted that I'm a bit of a workaholic -- in college I was that dork who skipped only one class during her four years . Also, even though work was stressful, I usually go because it manages to take my mind off of how I feel. But...those two days I definitely needed because I was absolutely miserable (your Mac Truck analogy works perfectly!) So definitely take time off if you are feeling that crappy and know that work will just make you feel worse and overwhelm you. I hope you feel better soon and let me know how it goes!
