Actually, it doesn't do anything IBS-wise, but the last time I took a good amount of Advil, I ended up throwing up all the next morning. Blech. Because Advil is so harsh on the stomach - I've known people with severe stomach ulcers because of long-term ibuprofen use - I wouldn't recommend it for IBS symptoms, just because you're likely to cause worse long-term problems with it.
