hi, when i first started having symptoms, i thought it was a trapped gas problem. i didn't want to face the fact that i had something that can't be controlled by meds or won't ever go away. But even i knew that gas could not cause these many problems and that pain does not stay with gas. i ended up discovering for myself that i have ibs.
when i looked up causes for gas because i had so much, i found that virtually everything one eats causes gas. it is practically impossible to avoid gas altogether. maybe something like jello does not cause gas, and even with that who knows? perhaps the teas and caps can help with gas, but i don't believe it goes away completely. i used to have gas "stuck in my throat" and under my shoulder blades, as well as flatus. although that has decreased, it is still there. Probably you should stick with the least gassy foods, and since the intestine is so out of whack, who's to say that the foods are causing gas.
if only it were the gas, because that i could live with. pain is the real problem with me.
good luck to you!
