I'm new to IBS diet, but I'm NOT new to avoiding foods that cause me problems. Haven't been able to tolerate onions for almost 30 years. Have been "afraid" to eat any fruits in any form for probably 5 years. I can eat regular sugar, though. Always wondered WHY these were a problem. Onions just slay me. I get sick for 48 hours with terrible nausea. Garlic not quite so bad---in tiny quantities (1/10 of a clove). Fruits are just a nuisance due to bloating and farting (can we use that word here?).
