Most of us here have found success with Heather's diet. And then tweaking it for ourselves individually. There are some KNOWN triggers that Heather has stated and then there are ones that may be triggers just for you. By starting out slowly, you'll be able to figure those out. For Jenny, she apparently has problems with oats and bananas. For many of us who have been on the diet for a long time (and have had successes...we're stable)we don't have this problem. I cut both of those things out of my diet when I initially started. I added them back in one at a time without problem. It'll be awhile before you figure out exactly what works for you and what doesn't. You'll get a lot of advice here. Some good, some not so good. Thankfully, there are loads of people on here so you'll at least be able to get opinions from a wide range of people and then you'll just have to use your best judgement to make up your mind for yourself. Anyone who thinks they're an expert in IBS is kidding themselves. Our doctors don't know everything and we can only be sure of what affects our own bodies because IBS is such an individual disorder.
