I tried it for a week at the recommended dose: 1/2 tsp twice daily. I felt gassy and bloated and my abdomen was always rumbly. I stopped, and then a week or so later, I read about Shell starting the acacia, and she and Heather convinced me to try it again, but at half the dose. I've been taking it ever since, and that was about 7 months ago. I'm still only about halfway towards the daily max dose of 5 tablespoons.
The key really is starting small and increasing VERY slowly. As you increase your acacia, you need to also be decreasing the amount of SF you get from food, and increasing IF. It's a very delicate balance, and I'm sure it will take me another six months or so until I get to where I need to be.
Don't give up on it!
