It could well be. It's good to know that you're progressing with the tests as recommended... the colonoscopy should definitely be your next step. But yes, your symptoms sound very similar to what mine were a couple years ago. I will say that upper-GI symptoms are not typically IBS, but I found, personally, that extreme lower-GI symptoms naturally caused the upper to be upset as well.
You might not notice diet playing a role, but trust me, there are certain things you should avoid eating - it just makes things that much worse. Red meat, dairy, high-fat foods, caffeine and artificial sweeteners are the absolute worst. I don't know what your diet is like now, but you might consider trying the IBS diet, as outlined on this site. It can't hurt, and you'll likely feel much better, as you're waiting for the rest of your tests.
