It's healthiest - for IBS, and for health in general - to eat many smaller meals vs. fewer large meals. It's easier to digest.

So while it can't be said that "overeating makes you constipated" - it wouldn't work that way on someone who's not IBS-C - it CAN be almost a trigger of sorts, making whatever IBS symptoms you do have worse.
