Things like stevia, manuka honey, and applesauce can be substituted into recipes or everyday use. Example would be to sweeten your tea or soyfee with stevia, or manuka honey. I've heard of applebutter or applesauce being used in recipes instead of sugar and/or artificial sweetners.
