Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have been diagnosed with IBS for about 4 months now, but had it for almost a year - severe constipation. Since I was diagnosed, I started with a no-flatuence diet - then learned about this site and eating for IBS. Recently, I have cut out all fruits (nothing seems to feel right), coffee (really hard for me, and has seemed to have no effect)- and feel like my diet is extreamly restricted, especially since I am not eating wheat.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I eat oatmeal for breakfast, rice and a vegiburger or grilled chicken and some cooked (safe) vegis for lunch and something similar for dinner. I am very active, and often hungry - but the only safe snacks I can come up with are rice cakes or oatmeal. I crave protein or something more than just rice, but that doesn't seem to work with me either. I take benfiber (2tbs twice a day) zelnorm, and anti-spasmatic, and align. Nothing seems to help and I feel totally hopeless. My lower ab area is in constant discomfort and I don't know what to do! Should I stop the zelnorm, stop the benefiber? I wonder if there is one key thing that i am doing wrong. can anyone help me??? Thanks so much, this has been an amazing resource for me,

Laura
