It isn't so much that Acacia helps with gas as it is that Acacia is less likely to produce gas than many other SFS.

As for carbohydrates making your gas worse, it is true but your body should adjust eventually. Digestive enzymes like Beano can help with that to some extent.

Here's a post I did on Soluble Fiber and gas a while back. I hope it helps.
