I've had both procedures but at different times. The day before is pretty miserable...but you'll get through...just lock yourself in your room/bathroom with a good read. I was so tired the next day, partly from the anesthesia and partly from being up all night in the bathroom. Plan to sleep/rest the remainder part of that day and eat a bagel or something like that right after the procedure. Then you can see how you feel at dinner time. As far as your bowel movements, I think I didn't go for a few days, as I had been completely cleaned out. But then things got back to normal (or should I say the usual...since IBS is never "normal"?)
