I just found this website yesterday and I have to say, I am really excited! I have been in horrible pain off and on for years, and this past month it has been at its worst. I went to the doctor recently and she said I definitely have IBS. But she told me to eat lots of fiber, specifically bran cereal with blueberries in it for breakfast, a salad for lunch, etcc...And to take Metamucil or Fiberchoice(which I've been taking every morning). It has only gotten worst... where before all afternoon I was in horrible pain and running to the bathroom, now it starts in the morning and lasts all day. I also started a new job a month ago and have been drinking coffee with splenda every morning and eating a piece of fruit like an orange or apple. So basically I've been doing everything wrong and making it sooo much worse. My mom found this website for me, I work in the same office with her and she sees what I go through every day. And I bought the Eating For IBS book at Whole Foods yesterday and a bunch of new food to try. So anyway I just need some support and am hoping that this new diet helps!! I was Vegan for a while last year, but my stomach problems were actually a lot worse because I was eating lots of veggies and fruit, and using substitutes that had high fat content. So I decided that it wasn't for me, when in fact a modified Vegan diet might actually be the best. Anyway I'm glad to have found this site and it really might be a lifesaver!
