Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone has any insights into perhaps improving my condition. It concerns diet, yet I felt I would be best served by mentioning the greater detail surrounding my experiences. I appologise if this is not as acutely focused on diet, this was the only forum which I felt it fit.I had my first IBS attack when I was 17. Up to then I had never had any problems like IBS. Anyway, I was walking to school one day, and I felt an acute need to go to the bathroom. After ducking into a public stall, I proceeded to go to school. My stomach felt bloated the whole way and I periodically burped to try and relieve the bloating, but to no avail. After that point, I went through numerous medical tests, which didn't indicate that anything was wrong, and for roughly a year I had severe IBS which rendered me house-bound and in constant pain. Eventually, I was put on a drug called Aropax and my symptoms disappeared. For 2 years I was able to eat/drink things that are bad for IBS, like coke, ice cream, beer, red meat etc without feeling in anyway, in pain. Then one day the drug stopped working, (oddly I can pinpoint it to the day and hour it happened) and my IBS 'returned', albeit not as strongly as It first was. And the foods I mentioned earlier started to effect my IBS again, iscecream being the worst. The reason I wrote this is because a lot of the details in my story are inconsistent with other people's stories, especially the diet aspect, even with the drug it just doesn't seem to make sense. ( I have related this all to my doctor and he can't make much sense of it either).
Thanks for any help
