Hi Abigail, there was a tip a long time ago about carrying peppermint altoids with you so that if you didn't have access to real peppermint tea, you could dissolve a peppermint altoid in water. I've done this before both in hot water and in room temp water. I don't notice much of a huge adverse affect, and most of the time there either no affect or a slightly soothing one, especially in the hot, humid heat. But altoids have caffeine too iirc and caffeine is an IBS trigger. Imho if you find that it helps you, sucking on a peppermint altoid or dissolving it in water now and then is probably okay from what I've read on here in the past. Just be careful and don't overdo them This is what I understood to be the case when I read about this a long, long time ago on Heather's site.
