I my opinion, the best part of the diet is that it is a healthy way for anyone to eat. At first, I had a really hard time, feeling like I "couldn't eat anything." But after just a few weeks (and Eating for IBS is a great cookbook to help you see how you eat a huge variety) I was amazed at just how many things I could eat.

I can imagine that living on a dairy farm will make things a little more complicated since dairy is a serious no-no. However, there's no reason that your family can't eat the same foods as you on this diet. My husband eats everything that I do (except for the soy milk and cheese) and loves it all!

Hope that helps a bit in your decision making. Have you checked out the recipe board for more ideas on ways to take foods you already make and alter them to be IBS safe?
