Hi All,
After sitting on the fence for a number of years about doing the IBS diet ... I am trying to see if it's going to "work" for me. I have severe refractory IBS-D prominent that was aggravated by a round of food poisoning ... campylobacter to be specific ... it has essentially ruined the nervous system in my gut ... I have had the usual upper and lower GI battery of tests including the colonoscopy etc. I have nothing wrong except for the above named things ... physically that is. I have a high level of stress, we dairy farm, I have six children and we homeschool. So I feel it would be really hard to implement the IBS diet into my lifestyle .. or would it be? It seems like a daunting task to me at this point .. but I am tired of running to the potty or better yet the potty running my life ... I would love to talk to someone that has successfully changed their diet and am better for it ... I need to know that it's not as hard as I'm making it seem ... at least in my mind it seems hard to change all of this ... how do I go about feeding everyone else if I can't eat most of it? ...
Also, regarding the use of the acacia fiber ... would it help me???
