Just the throat spray which numbs the throat. As the tube is put into the mouth the Dr. told me to swallow as if I was drinking a glass of water. I watched the whole procedure on the screen and the Dr. told me what I was looking at, he was looking for Celiac disease which was negative. It was pretty cool actually to watch. The only thing was when he started to pull the tube back up I started gagging, but nothing else happened.
