for anyone who is interested (maybe nobody)
I saw a Gastro today after a few months of waiting. Looks like he will be the one to finally help me!!! I am now scheduled for an endoscopy and colonscopy on Aug 31st. I am very nervous already because I have never had either of these procedures before, plus don;t remember the last time I was sedated. Also, the hospital where the procedures and today's appt are at is a 20-25 min highway drive and then another 20 mins or so through the city traffic. He wants me to start my prep early so I will not have to go while I am travelling
They took about 7 vials of blood and he gave me a prescription for Buscopan.
I had my IBS history written out, my diet and symptoms so I wouldn't forget anything when it came time to tell him. He was impressed and said that it is not an uncommon thing for people to do. Soo another wait to find out what is going on inside me and if I do in fact have IBS but at least I found someone who will help me, listen to me and try whatever he can (only took 10 years!!!)
Any advice on the new med and or procedures would be greatly appreciated!!
Bethany
