Hey,
There's a high probability that I will be having surgery to repair a (still broken!) foot this summer. I broke my foot in January, and the bone continues not to heal. Thus - surgery is the most permanent, sure-fire solution...
However, I'm worried about how the trauma from surgery, antibiotics, etc. will affect my IBS. Thankfully (!?!) I'm an IBS-C'er, so I don't have to worry about running to the bathroom all the time. But I'm still concerned about being even a little disabled with crutches & being uncomfortable from the IBS...the crutch concern is me overreacting. THe other concerns are legit i think.
As I'm trying to make this decision - surgery, or just letting it go and dealing with mild/moderate discomfort - can anyone offer me some help from your experience?
I know we're all different & our bodies react in very different ways. But I still want to hear from folks if you've had experience here. Or can offer reassurance.
Thanks!
