I was one of those who got better when I finally gave up the coffee. It was the only thing I was cheating with, figuring I could get away with it as long as I stuck with the program otherwise. I was soooooo wrong.
I discovered SoyFee. If you do a search you'll find a million posts about it. I tried Teccino and a few others, but SoyFee was much better, in my opinion, and it's also very healthy for you.
Do yourself a favor and just give it up, then, when you become stable, try a little decaf -- just a little -- and see how you do with it. I've been stable for over a year now and am able to drink several cups of real coffee a day, albeit decaf. It's my choice because I was glad to kick my 42-year addiction to caffeine; I didn't want to get addicted again.
I do on occasion stop in at Starbuck's and order a soy latte (the leaded kind), and I'm fine with it, but I don't do it every day.
Another alternative for you that worked for me is Soy Dream Mocha Fudge frozen non-dairy dessert ("ice cream"). It contains a small amount of coffee, but it didn't bother me at all before I was stable and kind of satisfied my craving, 'cause it totally tastes like coffee ice cream. Do a search for it as well, 'cause we discussed this a lot when hubby and I did a taste test, sampling different brands of soy "ice cream".
Getting stable is worth giving up the coffee for awhile, believe me!
