Donnatal is dangerous because it can be addictive; it contains phenobarbital. I use it VERY sparingly, only when I have an attack AND the Equalactin doesn't help. I am only on my second bottle, yet I've been taking it for over 5 years now. I had to throw out an entire bottle because it had expired several year ago, so you can see how seldom I use it.
No, it's not intended for use every day; you would get addicted, so save it for those severe attacks only. Get yourself some Equalactin; it's perfect for mild rumblings. Hard to find, but still it's over-the-counter. If your local phamacist doesn't have it, he can order it for you. GREAT stuff. Do a search, and you'll see a lot of posts about it. Heather turned me on to it by sending me a sample with the first order I placed with her. It's mainly for "C"-ers, but works great for "D" folks, provided we take only ONE.
