IB-Stat is a hyosciamine spray that I take when I'm having a bad attack. It takes 2 pumps of the spray in my mouth to stop the attack in its tracks (like, almost instant relief!), but it gives me bad dry mouth too. The donatal pills I take have hyosciamine, plus phenobarbatol in them. It's prescribed for me 3 times a day, and I take them before meals if I think I'm going to have an attack out on the town. I don't feel the phenobarb at all. Others have said it makes them dizzy or drowsey. I can take 3 at once and it doesn't do anything except give me dry mouth (and stop my spasms ). I hardly take the pills any more because of the HORRIBLE dry mouth. The dryness is so bad I can't take them at night ever (not even one!), because my mouth feels like it'll never have spit in it again. And the dryness makes my tongue sore and swollen. Not fun.
