Estrogen effects of Fennel?       03/23/06 04:34 PM Edit Reply Quote stephfolsom Reged: 03/14/06 Posts: 51 Loc: Texas Does anyone know anything about the estrogen effects of fennel? I've just done a little bit of research on fennel (I'm considering this IBS diet) and found that it seems to have some estrogen effects. To what extent? I am in early menopause stage (and I'm only 42). I don't want to go on hormone therapy because my sister is just now 3 years out from breast cancer caused by 20 years on hormone therapy. Some research I've done on hormonal issues indicates that you don't want too much estrogen added back to your system, it's actually progesterone that you want. Anyway, are the estrogen effects of fennel only minimal or are they more substantial? My sister has to stay away from any forms of estrogen (soy, fennel, etc.). Also, can anyone provide me with some advice on making herb teas more palatable. I haven't found any that I like. I don't like them enough to even just force it down.
