Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: IUD...Anyone using it?

I went to the GYN/OB with the exact intent - to get an IUD. I have fainted a few times now the last day of my period from severe cramping and D. The dr informed me that since I haven't had a child it would be difficult to insert.
She felt strongley the Nuvaring would be a good solution. Just like another post, I am on the 3 month cycle - so 4 periods a month. The intent is to stablize me. There is a lower dose of hormones in the ring - since the pill is processed by the liver it often contains higher hormones to account for that loss.
I can honestly say I have not felt better. I am very happy with the ring - I didn't realize how bad my depression and anxiety had become and the IBS was the straw that broke the camel's back (although I think I've had it for sometime and just realized it). I hope to never be on the pill again.
I have been fairly stable since I have switched and started Heather's diet - sometimes I don't eat right, but at least I know what's coming now that I am aware of what foods affect me.
And there is nothing wrong with having 4 periods a year, there is nothing conclusion to indicate it is unhealthy.
