Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Colon Cleansing and detoxing

I recently went with a friend to a nature health food store. I am C and I've been feeling bloated and seeing it from my waistline to my knees for a couple of months now and am desperate to get rid of it. Both my friend and the women who owns the store believe in colon cleansing and detox as a way to clean out your system which will get rid of the bloating I have. The owner says that that is all toxins inside my body. I don't want to chance trying colon cleansing because I am afraid of what it may do and have read from Heather that it is not good for us with IBS. I did try the enzyme tablets for about a month and they gave me cramping. So this time I decided to try the detox tea and I used it for the first time today and it gave me the same cramping feeling I experienced from using the enzyme tablets.

I am desperate to do something to get rid of this bloating and lose 5 to 7 pounds. I exercise regularly and try to eat well, but I just can't seem to lose this. Are they right in saying that it is toxins inside my body? What else can I do because the enzymes and detox tea that I've tried give me cramping.

Please help!!
