Diverticulosis and Surgery       02/15/06 09:59 PM Edit Reply Quote Bevvy Reged: 11/04/03 Posts: 5918 Loc: Northwest Washington State I too have IBS and Diverticulosis. I've had two diverticulitis attacks. My GI told me he would remove part of my colon only if I had four attacks and the "pockets" were more numerous than they are now. That hasn't happened -- YET. I actually don't fear the surgery, though, because I understand you end up feeling so much better after the "diverticulae" part of the colon is removed. I heard that not only from my GI but from other folks who have gone through the operation.
