If you do a search, you'll find a LOT about alcohol. Look for "Jack Daniels." I'm afraid I'm guilty of establishing a bad reputation.
I'm stable now, but even before I got stable, I had a little Jack on occasion. There are some tricks to it, though:
1. Limit your portion to only ONE drink. 2. Have a SF before the drink and AFTER. 3. Try some plain water in between sips of the Jack. 4. Don't mix your good booze with any kind of sweet soda; it'll make you sick.
The booze relaxes the nerve endings in the colon, so when I'm slightly cramped up, the Jack helps me 100%. However, I stick to those rules above, because if I have more than one drink, it cancels out all the benefits.
Now, having said all that, if you discovered that alcohol is a trigger for you, then by all means, AVOID IT! It's just so not worth it (not even Jack!).
