Hi Ann - There is no need to worry - Benefiber is complete soluble fiber, and none of the same ingredients as Ex Lax. Here is a quote directly from Benefiber's website:

Quote:

1. What is the active ingredient in Benefiber, and how is it different than other bulk fiber supplements
The only ingredient in Benefiber is partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG), derived from the seed of the cluster bean. Unlike any other bulk fiber supplement, Benefiber dissolves completely in water and won't thicken. Benefiber contains 100% PHGG, a natural soluble fiber.

from Benefiber FAQ's.

And if you look at the label, Benefiber says it's a fiber supplement - not a laxative like most fiber supplements unfortunately read.
