Hi Michelle,

I had my gallbladder removed abour 14 years ago (keyhole surgery). I recovered fairly quickly (did some light gardening a week later!) I did not notice any difference in my appetite - I wish it had decreased . One thing I've noticed is that I have a hard time digesting fatty meals - probably because the bile is no longer being concentrated in the gallbladder and released when I eat fried or fatty foods. So, for me it's better to avoid these foods.

I don't know whether or not my IBS-C was caused by losing my gallbladder - more likely it was caused by all the courses of antibiotics I've been on in my lifetime due to several surgeries, etc.

Isn't it great not to have the gallstone pain any longer? I'm sure glad I had mine removed. I hope you soon make a full recovery.
