I lose weight easily too. A lot of people don't understand that it's hard not to be able to gain weight. I value each and every one of my pounds!
I've been taking donatal for about 9 months now, 3 a day or one before each meal. I get the dry mouth side effect which is annoying but managable. I don't get any tiredness from it.
As a preventative it works really well, in my opinion. If I get a night attack I'll take one with a sip of water and it alone will cut the duration and severity of an attack. I can feel it working, like I can with imodium, but I feel it in the stomach, whereas I feel the imodium in my colon (weird, huh? ).
I haven't found any tolerance to donatal building; it takes just one pill for me to feel its effects, and that hasn't changed since last spring when I started them. I'll keep it in mind, though, and look for any signs and keep you posted.
Listen, don't beat yourself up for jumping right back on the food after an attack. I get a complete evacuation, and the only thing I can think of is getting some food in me to fill that aching hole in my gut! It's hard feeling that empty, and it's not your fault for feeling you need to eat.
Hope this helps--
