I was wondering why Benefiber doesn't require that you drink as much water as the other powdered fiber supplements. It only says to drink 4 ounces of water per tablespoon (3 grams). Whereas the other ones say to drink 8-16 ounces of water per teaspoon (I think - I don't have those in front of me).

Also - I don't understand the principle behind how the Benefiber works. The container says that it is non-thickening. I thought the idea behind these fiber supplements was that they thicken into a gel-like mass. Could somebody please explain these two things to me? Thank you !!
