I'm so glad you found us. This is a great group of very caring paople, and I hope you get some answers here. I'm so sorry you had to go through so much pain. You don't deserve to have your gut wrench when all you've done it try to eat right. I know you're going to get some great support from this site, and I encourage you to post more and let us get to know you!
Me, I'm Nelly, I'm 34 and have had pain-predominant IBS-D for decades. My IBS was very bad in grammer and high school and through trial and error and a bunch of lengthly hospital stays (one was 5 months, and then I spent 2 years recovery in bed), I found my own diet in college to keep myself stable enough to finally graduate. I've had my share of bad doctors who have been very insensitive and made sweeping, hurtful generalizations about my tummy woes and I know how that makes you feel as a trusting patient. Boooo!
I hear you about comments from the health profession like, "...you would be dead by now"...! Isn't it amazingly awful what health care professionals will tell us? Welcome again to the group and feel free to dive in-- I know osting here has been life-altering for me and I hope it will for you too.
