Well, here's my strategy.
I've ceased to take Nexium recently. I cannot deal with some of the side effects.
I will self-medicate as necessary in the meantime. I expect some degree of "haywire." I will just deal with it/live with it.
I note that I have been feeling worse versus better after many months on the drug. It was an effective PPI for about 6 weeks. Perhaps the side effects are accumulative with me.
I've had enough cramping, excruciating back pain, stomach distention, nausea. It doesn't stop me from vomitting. Yes, it suppresses acid, but didn't do mcuh for the vomitting.
Having stopped the drug this past week, I note a reduction in the stomach distention. I have less D. I still have cramping/nausea. My lower back pain is reduced.
So, in effect, NO MORE PURPLE PILL for me. I'll just grin & bear it, self-medicate, and practice ultra-safe eating & common sense.
