Although this sounds like and oxymoron, your body needs fat to lose weight, and the right fats are Omega 3 and 6 fats. Relying solely on the flax to lose weight will not achieve that goal. It needs to be in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle that includes exercise. When I was weight training, I would either take 4-6 capsules a day with meals or up to 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds. Normally if you take the ground flax seeds, it's good to start off slowly with 1/2 or 1 teaspoon per day and in the following days gradually increase the quantity you take. Too much at once might make you bloated, gassy, etc. I hope this helps. Here is some more info on flax
