I have an honours Bachelor of Music (percussion). Although I don't need my stomach to beat things, I do need to be vertical. I don't play anymore (full time Mommy) but when I did, I was always specially careful of what I ate before gigs. Very light meals, full of soluble fibre, and NO triggers or anything at all I think would cause trouble. For me that would mean chicken soup and some bread or a baked potato or something like that. Then, after the gig, I would fill up. I'm glad the fennel is working well for you. Keep it up. Keep it in a thermos with you all day long. Also, whenever possible, walk after meals. It can REALLY help with gas reduction. Even if it's just 10 minutes. I highly recommend Heather's diet - it's what's given me my life back. I know about not leaving a classroom of 30 kids with instruments while I rush off with an attack. It was dreadful - I used to starve myself during the work day so I didn't have to leave my classes. With that said, give it a try. It'll take time. You'll find that you're more sensitive to some foods than others. Once you get a feel for the diet and your own sensitivities, you should feel a LOT better.
