Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, I still have no clue what I "really" have. No doctor will give me a diagnosis. And they haven't done any test to find out, like a sitz marker test. It seems like they just treat all Constipation the same way...which is just saying to eat more fiber and exercise. Doctors are not my friend. Not one doctor thinks foods have any effect on IBS or tummies...except to say that fiber is suppose to help C. I've been asked more than once why I don't drink milk or eat yogurt...this is by GI doctors who supposedly know about IBS....or whatever the heck I have.

I want a firm diagnosis, one way or another!

I have not tried a laxative or aloe. I did try Cascara Sagrada (sp?) a few times as well as senna and mineral oil and all gave temporary relief. But I don't trust them for long term use, because I don't know if I have chronic C or IBS for sure.

Why won't any doctor test for this or tell me? My "gut" tells me I have IBS because I get spasms, bloat (even when not C), gas, and occasional, like once a month. I am a mystery. The last doc refused to even look at me and said I needed to go to Mayo to figure it all out: the slight delayed gastric emptying, the non functioning gallbladder, the gluten antibodies, the motility problems, the pain....

I can't afford that.

Right now I am trying Miralax and Acacia, but switching to Benefiber because I'm out of Acacia.

How are you doing with the IBS? You still not taking a SFS? How do you keep from being C without one? How is the gluten diet treating you?

*hugs*
Beth
