Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: So, you're eating wheat product now?

Well, my family doctor said that the only firm positive diagnosis for celiac is a biopsy...and mine was negative. My stupid GI doc thought b/c I had been off wheat for a week that I was just healed--but I always wondered why I never felt better! My family doc said that 7 days is not long enough to heal the damage if there was any...so he told me to eat wheat and enjoy it! It's been almost a month now and I am doing well! I even go out to dinner! My life has been jumpstarted back again and I couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong--my bowels are still kinda messed up. Miralax is way too strong and gives me lots of spasms, but being on nothing made me constipated a bit...still, nothing like I was before. So I'm about to try getting on fiber. I think it should help--I hadn't needed it while I was eating GF and taking Miralax...so I might try that soon, but I'm doing so well! I'm sorry that your situation doesn't allow you to get it out and get better--but sometimes the chronic D I've read about could be even worse! Hang in there!!!
