I had my baby boy on July 6. Though my IBS flared up big-time during my pregnancy, my doc said it was ok for me to take a stool softener. My pre-natal vitamin also had a stool softener in it. Make sure yours doesn't have iron in it. That can mess things up. WATER WATER WATER. Exercise helped. I also did IBS hypnotherapy for the last 100 days of my pregnancy. I ended up in the ER one day for abdominal pains and they just told me I was constipated. They gave me fleet suppositories to use, which also helped. Check with your doc to see if there's anything she can give you to take. I'm happy to report that the second I gave birth to my son, my IBS symptoms have disappeared and haven't returned so far. It's been over eight weeks. My doc said that he either misdiagnosed my IBS or there's something about pregnancy and IBS that he doesn't know about. -------------------- ~jules Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
