I had a colonscopy in July. The GI specialist told me that he found nothing wrong. He gave me a prescription for zelnorm and told me to have a nice day. The problem is that the bloating, gas, pain, alternating constipation and diarreah did not go away because he told me that everything was fine. Where do I go to find out what is wrong with me? Do I assume that I have IBS and follow the diet guidelines or do I continue to persue a doctor's advice. I haven't found a very helpful doctor yet. I have provided them with a 2 month daily food journal (I have eliminated dairy, fat, fried food, chocolate and coffee from my diet), all my symptoms and all the natural supplements that I have taken in the past few months. After my colonoscopy, my doctor told me that I might try a dairy-free diet. I don't think that he even read my journal. I am confused and in pain. Can you help? I live in the Los Angeles area.
