Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Friends Please lt me share this with u

Some of you may know (Kree) that I have had gall bladder surgery on Thursday August 4th. I am home getting better. The thing I want to share is this: I even pulled out Heather's book. One of the first thing she asks you is "Have you had your gall bladder out"? Well for me (while in Canada) for 2 yrs before moving to the US I saw 3 doctors had xrays done, ultrasound etc. been on every pill u can mention for "IBS". I was stamped on the forhead IBS and told to change my diet and move on. For Jan/feb/Mar of that year I was so sick I could not even eat drink a thing. I went down to 104 lbs at the best I may weigh 108. Well getting no where I moved to the us searched for a gastro doc. now to make such a long story shorter. I saw him ONCE he asked me if any gall bladder tests were ever done? I said no... he ordered one, wasnt happy with what it said. ordered a 2nd and saw me and told me mine was functioning at 10% TEN !!!!
He explained to me how many IBS symtoms can be gall bladder related. (I am sure Heather knows thesethings I speak of).
Well he was 100% confident it was gall bladder. 2 yrs later and so much grief and pain (I know you ALL know that one) I am recupping. Day after surgery I woke up and they brought me enough food for 10 people. Yougurt, banana, blueberry muffin (not lowfat) grits, eggs etc. COFFEE !!!! I ate almost all of it and drank the good ol hospital coffee and I am telling you even drinking it and eating it I felt DIFFERENT. I knew then and there I was on my way to getting better.
Sorry this is long but this website saved my sanity when I first heard IBS and it was the one place I knew I had to come and share this news.
