As usual, Sand explained it SO well.
Her advice is excellent. You want to follow the advice on the WEBSITE - minus the message boards. Not that the boards are misleading in any way, but when you're first starting, reading the endless chatter from people who aren't following the diet exactly as it should be followed is very, VERY confusing. Until you understand the basics of the diet, stick with what you read on the WEBSITE, which is the basics of the diet in their "purest form".
And yes, buying the book is very helpful... but if finances are a problem, as they were for me, printing out a lot of the information on the diet and supplements was VERY helpful. It does make it a lot clearer to have the basics at your fingertips, without having to dig through the site every single time you have a question.
And as Michele pointed out, the diet is basically the same for C's, D's, A's, and anyone else. C's sometimes find they need more insoluble fiber than the D types, but that falls into the category of all the little individual quirks you'll find out about your body as you work your way along through the diet towards stabilizing. It's easier than it sounds, I promise.
