I share your frustration about it all. I went off dairy for a month and a half but in the end decided for me that still feeling sick wasn't worth the way I felt having to cut out so much (I'm a huge dairy addict). I still drink it and yes, I still feel sick a lot of the time, but I made the choice and I can always avoid dairy later if I choose to). Not that I'm saying it's not worth trying it, I just found for me it made no difference really so I don't worry so much about it anymore. I have found for me though that wheat/gluten is a major problem for me so once I'm feeling a little better by avoiding that I might again try and cut out the milk to see if there's any improvement then. Hang in there, it's worth a try and if it makes you feel better it's worth sticking with (then you can make educated decisions to cheat and feel sick afterwards )
