Re: IBS C or Diverticulosis       05/15/05 12:59 PM Edit Reply Quote little bear Reged: 12/22/04 Posts: 736 Loc: chicago hi, hmm---as painful as it may be, probably waiting is the best b/c when you use a laxative, your bowel goes right back to point 1 of relying on a medication. i used laxatives alot in my beginning ibs days and found it harder for my bowel to function on its own. it took nearly 6 months of this pattern for me before i made a change. if youre feeling "stopped up", look at what you ate during the day to see if that couldve contributed. or total up the amount of fiber youre taking to see if you are/are not getting enough. sometimes constipation occurs from too much fiber which sounds strange but its true. better to stick it out b/c the progress you make will just be erased it you let the laxative do the work for you -------------------- VEGAN ASHLEY~IBS/C www.myspace.com/dutchflowers Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
